Maravu Taveuni Lodge

We stayed 8 nights and had the most fantastic time. The staff were all so lovely and we loved the snorkelling trip organised by the lodge, and the evening kava sessions. The lodge is set in such a stunning garden with a nice pool to cool down. The food was great, we really enjoyed the pancakes and curries. Our bure was so comfortable and spacious. We loved that we were only 5 mins from the beautiful beach. It was great value for money. We were so sad to leave!

Maravu Lodge was exactly what we were hoping for! The staff were the standout of our experience; they were incredibly friendly, helpful, and relaxed. They were happy to organise trips for us or give us advice when we wanted to do things ourselves independently. They were also happy to just have a chat and a laugh. I would say they went above and beyond what I expected, I can't praise them enough. We ate breakfast and dinner in Maravu most days and were very happy with the food in terms of quality, price, variety, and portion size. The grounds were beautiful with well-maintained gardens. We had a private bure which was spacious, comfortable, and clean.

This is THE place to stay at if you go to Taveuni. It's really well located, close to dive centers / rainbow reef and it's easy to take the bus to go to Bouma to do the Lavena and Tavoro waterfall hikes. The rooms are surrounded by beautiful nature, the pool is great and the food very tasty. If you're traveling solo, you might meet other like minded people as it's the only place with a dorm. The best thing about the lodge is the staff, who will make you feel welcomed and looked after during your whole stay and who will share more about their culture if you take the time to chat to them. Be sure to try kava and listen to the beautiful music Kali plays every evening. Also they run a morning boat ride to try and see dolphins (couldn't see them when I went but you get to snorkel too) . Such a nice place! We were staying in the hilltop villa, which actually is a beautiful 2 BR house with 2 en suites, a small kitchen and a huge terrace with comfortable furniture and the most amazing view! We never tried to walk up there, as every time we wanted to go out or back to the villa, we just had to phone reception and someone would pick us up by car within five minutes and drive us to the reception, the beach or even near by restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly, they even took us on an amazing snorkeling trip without any extra cost. No need for a rental car as they assist with transportation even to the airport that is just a couple of minutes away, and we payed 70 FJD for a taxi that took us to the international date line and the natural water slide and stayed with us the whole afternoon. Already planning our next trip!

The grounds are beautiful and the room was large and comfortable. The staff were wonderful and so friendly always, they always took time to say hello and see how we’re going. It was nice to join in for a cava night and listen to the music. The location is good and the on site restaurant cooks some nice meals - much better food than the nearby restaurants.
